The collection is also our first square design with a quilt of more generous proportions (144 x 144cm) which we conceived as something more cross-generational to find its place in a nursery, junior, teenage or adult room in the home.
Did you know that if you climbed up to the very, very top of the Empire State Building you would only be at the beginning of the world’s secret ‘flyways’. Up high here birds in their thousands traverse around the world finding warmer climates before returning to their breeding homes and winter feeding grounds. A brilliant motorway up in the sky we can’t see.
We began the collection by asking ourselves why the stork had become synonymous with delivering babies to their parents? We discovered the roots of folklore and fairytales are almost always rooted in reality and the line is always blurred. Mythology and reality sit side by side in our hand-illustrated reversible design as we encourage you to imagine the enormous journeys birds make (some of them with tiny wings) and to remember how much we share with our feathered neighbours.
