The Pond Dance begins in the humble world of the pond, where water boatmen, pond skaters, frogs, ducks and delicate plants create a surprisingly rich and biodiverse ecosystem. As night falls, these familiar pond creatures transform for an underwater ball, dressing in their finest and gathering amongst lily pads, harps and shimmering reflections. Inspired by the quiet magic of pond life, the collection invites children to look more closely, learn about the natural world and imagine what happens when the sun goes down.

The Pond Dance is Forivor’s pond-life-inspired collection of children’s bedding and accessories, celebrating the remarkable biodiversity found in and around ponds. It began with a fascination for one of the simplest landscapes around us: a place that can seem humble and familiar, yet provides an extraordinary habitat for amphibians, insects, plants and other wildlife.

By day, the collection is filled with the inhabitants of pond life. Water boatmen glide across the water, pond skaters skim its surface and frogs and ducks make their homes amongst the reeds and lily pads. Some creatures are rare, others are familiar, but each is part of the intricate ecosystem of the pond.

Then, when the sun goes down and the bedding is turned over, the pond becomes the setting for a very different kind of gathering. Beneath the shimmering reflections, the creatures have dressed up for an underwater ball. Harps begin to play, the dancing starts and even the duck has put on a rather splendid hat for the occasion. The quiet pond of Dayland has transformed into a magical nighttime world where its inhabitants can celebrate together beneath the moon.
