Brighter mornings, birdsong & a springtime essential

Posted by Rebecca Monserat on

Have you noticed the lighter mornings, the lengthening days, the birdsong filling the air, and the first fresh green shoots breaking through the earth? We have, and it truly is the most uplifting feeling.

Spring is unmistakably in the air, and here at Forivor, we’re wondering if it might be time to retire the hot water bottles for another season and welcome back our lightweight muslin blankets. Perfect for building dens, snuggling up on the sofa, or keeping in your bag for impromptu picnics in the spring sunshine, these versatile muslins are ready to embrace the season’s changing rhythms.

Around this time of year, many of the creatures featured in our Enchanted Forest daytime illustration begin to emerge after the long, cold winter. Birds are busily preparing their nests, ensuring their young will have a safe place to grow, while the first delicate shoots of spring flowers push their way towards the light, painting the landscape with colour once more.

On the Welsh borders, the home of Forivor, we have started to relax outside in the sunshine wrapped up warm with our blankets and a morning cup of tea. One morning recently Rebecca’s son Taryn looked up at the bright blue sky and spotted a red kite soaring overhead and said "look Mummy a kite.....but I can’t see its string".

His innocent observation of this bird he imagined as a toy floating in the sky gave us so much joy and food for thought. What had he been seeing in his six years of spotting this bird overhead? Alice’s sunny illustration brings Taryn’s imagination of a kite bird to life and is a joyous abstract representation of spring.

Red kites are such majestic, elegant birds which we are so happy have repopulated our skies after being on the brink of extinction. In the early 1900s there were only around 5 breeding pairs in west Wales but happily after a successful conservation programme they are a common sight in our skies and a story to give us hope for wildlife and our natural world that it can come back from the brink.

As the season shifts, why not welcome a little springtime magic into your home? Explore our beautifully soft, nature-inspired muslin blankets - perfect for all your springtime adventures.

Here’s to brighter days and the magic of spring.

With love,
Rebecca & Alice x
